Fulbright Commission, Fulbright 2002 Awards Applications
are now invited for the following awards to cover study, research or lecturing in the
United States. Applicants must be Australian citizens. (United States/Australian dual
citizens or Green Card holders resident abroad are ineligible). Several categories of
awards are included as Postgraduate Student Awards, Postdoctoral Fellow Awards, Senior

British Cartographic Society Awards The object of
the Society is the promotion of that class of knowledge which
distinguishes the Art and Science of Cartography in professionals and students.Several
categories include (BCS Award, John Bartholomew Award, Ordnance Survey Award, Reader's
Digest Award, Henry Johns Award, Society Medal, Godfrey Award).

The
International Geographic Information Foundation -
The International Geographic Information Foundation (IGIF) is a Non-Profit Charitable
Foundation dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life on Earth through better use
of geographic information. Offers Best Student Paper Award Program, Best Proposed
Student Research Award Program, and ESRI/IGIF Student Scholarship Awards.
The National Geographic
Society Award National Geographic recognizes
student research in the mapping sciences with awards sponsored through three different
organizations:- British Cartographic Society, American Congress on Surveying &
Mapping, and Association of American Geographers.
The Geomatics Canada Scholarship Program was
established through Natural Resources Canada, Geomatics Canada, to assist students
enrolled in a post secondary institution in the field of geomatics. Annually, there are
nine (9) scholarships of $1500 awarded to University students and nine (9) scholarships of
$1000 awarded to Colleges and Technical Institutions. The Canadian Institute of Geomatics
will also present each of the scholarship winners with a complimentary one year student
membership. Deadline for application is March 1st of each year.
The
Hans Klinkenberg Memorial Scholarship Fund provides
scholarships to students in the Geomatics sciences at technical institutes and community
colleges. Students may apply prior to March 1st of each year as outlined in the Hans
Klinkenberg Deed of Award. Two awards are presented annually. Awards range from $500 to
$2000. The Board of Trustees representing the Hans Klinkenberg Fund evaluates each
submission received on the basis of scholastic achievement and various required documents.
University of Alberta There
are several ways in which you can finance your studies at the University of Alberta. Some
financial assistance programs are administered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and
Research; others are administered by outside organizations. Funding is available for
Permanent Residents of Canada, Canadian Students Citizens of other Countries, for graduate
students and postdoctoral students. Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunities are also
available.
